Measure, do not guess. Shapewear tracks your waist and hip measurements far more closely than your dress size, so take a tape to the fullest part of your hips and match it to the range printed on each size. Heads up that the waist trainer lists its range in centimetres — 2.54 to the inch.

Firm, not punishing. The waist trainer sets its own tension on front hook-and-eye rows, so how much hold you want is your call. The knit is panelled so it breathes rather than turning into a sauna by lunchtime. Light control is exactly that: it smooths a line, it does not rebuild you.

Hand wash cold with a mild detergent. No bleach, no fabric softener, and never the dryer — heat is the one thing elastane does not survive. Reshape it flat and air dry out of direct sun. The adhesive bra is its own thing: rinse the sticky side under lukewarm water with a drop of soap and your fingertips, air dry face up, then press it back onto its film to store.
